Need payment before you ship goods or start work? A proforma invoice is the formal version of a quote, used for prepayment and customs.
In everyday use, a quote is a fixed price for a defined job, while an estimate is an informed guess that may change. Say which one you are giving in the notes, and how long it is valid.
Commonly 14 to 30 days. Material prices and your availability change, so a “valid until” date protects you. The generator fills in 30 days by default.
Open the quote and press “Invoice”. The line items and client carry over, a new invoice number is assigned and the invoice references the quote.
